Dr. Jenny Liu

About Dr Jenny Liu BDSc(Hons), Dip TMJ & Sleep (UJI), FDSM
Dr Jenny Liu BDSc(Hons), Dip TMJ & Sleep (UJI), FDSM is a Melbourne-based dentist, clinical educator, and entrepreneur known for her work in preventive and cosmetic dentistry, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders, and the dental management of sleep-related breathing conditions. She graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Science (Honours) from the University of Queensland, completed a Diploma in Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction and Sleep-Disturbed Breathing at Jaume I University (UJI) in Spain, and holds a Fellowship in Dental Sleep Medicine (FDSM) from the Australasian Sleep Association.
Jenny is listed on the Australasian Sleep Association’s FDSM registry, a distinction reserved for dentists who have completed advanced fellowship training and demonstrated clinical competence in the dental management of sleep-related breathing disorders, including obstructive sleep apnoea. As one of a small number of practitioners in Australia to hold this qualification, she brings highly specialised expertise in using customised oral appliances and dental interventions to help patients manage sleep-disordered breathing and improve their overall health.
I’m passionate about helping people improve their health, confidence, and quality of life through evidence-based care and thoughtful communication. Over the years, my clinical practice has evolved beyond procedures — it’s become about empowering individuals to make informed decisions, understand their bodies, and take ownership of their wellbeing. This same philosophy underpins how I lead my team and how I mentor young clinicians as they step into their careers.
As the founder and principal dentist of Happy Dentistry, I’ve built a practice recognised for its patient-centred approach, innovative technology, and multidisciplinary care. Our work has been honoured with multiple industry accolades, including Melbourne Business Network Business of the Year, the Australian Small Business Champion Awards, and finalist recognition in the Young Entrepreneur Awards.
In addition to my clinical work, I serve as a Clinical Demonstrator (DDS1) at the Melbourne Dental School, University of Melbourne, where I teach foundational clinical skills and mentor future dentists. Beyond dentistry, I’m passionate about leadership, growth, and creating spaces where others can thrive — whether that’s supporting new graduates, building purpose-driven teams, or, in the future, helping professionals grow through coaching and mentorship.
Fluent in both English and Mandarin, I bring a cross-cultural perspective to my work and believe deeply in the power of communication, education, and human connection to transform lives. My mission is to continue evolving — using everything I’ve learned from dentistry, business, and leadership to help others build confidence, embrace growth, and unlock their potential.
